Patisserie La Cigogne – Danforth Location
Commercial Café Renovation
Sameni Interiors was entrusted with the top-to-bottom renovation of Patisserie La Cigogne, a beloved and historic café on Danforth Avenue. The goal was to give the space a fresh, modern appeal to attract new and younger customers, while still preserving the charm and character that made it a neighborhood favorite.
We carefully balanced old and new in our design approach. The outdated tile flooring was replaced with elegant oak-colored herringbone hardwood, instantly warming the atmosphere. We introduced new millwork and wall paneling, alongside a redesigned ceiling and lighting plan, to create a brighter and more inviting interior. Both bathrooms were fully renovated, while custom-made tables, counters, and chairs brought a refined, cohesive aesthetic to the café.
To maintain the patisserie’s identity, we used Italian Calacatta Viola porcelain slabs for the tabletops and countertops, retaining the café’s signature burgundy tones. These were paired with oak finishes, green-accented wallpapers, and cozy seating, blending tradition with freshness. We also added new shelving and storage solutions, ensuring the space felt not only stylish but also highly functional for daily operations.
The result is a revitalized café that respects its long-standing heritage while presenting a clean, contemporary look that resonates with today’s generation of customers.
